The Stan Bowley Trust
The Stan Bowley Trust became a registered Charity in October 2011. We were formed by family and friends of Alan “Stan ” Bowley, a former Staffordshire Police officer who was treated for cancer in 2000 and 2007 he received the news that the cancer had returned and future with traditional treatment was not looking favourable. At this time Stan discovered CyberKnife. Family and friends and rallied around and through fundraising he was treated in the USA.
After treatment family and friends continued to spread the word of CyberKnife. The Stan Bowley Trust a very proud to be a major contributor towards the purchase of a CyberKnifer machine at the QE hospital in Birmingham.
Since the introduction of CyberKnife at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, clinical trials have been undertaken. These are proving very successful and now head, neck and some other cancers are available for treatment on the NHS. We know that CyberKnife can treat far more, so the clinical trials continue and The Stan Bowley Trust stands firm in our support of the QE Hospital and the fantastic work they do.
