Pathway Project launches Glow Up Strong Crowdfunding campaign

Helping Young People Spot the Early Signs of Abuse

The Pathway Project has officially launched its Glow Up Strong crowdfunding campaign on Spacehive – a 60-day mission to raise vital funds to deliver life-changing workshops for young people in Tamworth, focusing on recognising the early warning signs of dating abuse.

With 1 in 3 young people aged 16-24 experiencing dating abuse, and nearly a quarter of teenage girls aged 13-17 reporting physical violence in a relationship, this campaign couldn’t come at a more critical time.

“We’re seeing far too many young people enter harmful relationships without the tools to spot red flags,” said Sam Booth, CEO of Pathway Project. “Glow Up Strong is about early intervention. It’s about planting seeds of awareness before harm takes root.”

The Aim

The campaign aims to raise more than £20 000 in 60 days to fund the launch of Glow Up Strong – a transformative outreach programme designed to educate, engage, and empower young people, particularly girls and young women, across Tamworth.

Each session will use interactive tools like the Safety Spin, developed by Pathway Project, to open up conversations around consent, boundaries, emotional safety, and what healthy relationships really look like.

What the Campaign Will Fund

If fully funded, Glow Up Strong will:

  • Host 24 drop-in sessions, reaching an average of 360 participants
  • Fund the recruitment of a Young Women’s Domestic Abuse Prevention Officer
  • Create a cohesive set of educational tools, including the Safety Spin
  • Ensure inclusive participation by delivering in accessible, trusted spaces
  • Deliver outreach activities to reach at least 500 young women

Why It Matters

Too often, young people don’t realise they’re in abusive relationships until it’s too late. The lack of early education means they miss subtle but dangerous warning signs — from coercive control to emotional manipulation.

“Dating abuse doesn’t always start with bruises — it starts with control, isolation, pressure, and fear. Glow Up Strong gives young people the language and power to say, ‘this isn’t right’ — and the confidence to seek help,” says Sam Booth.
